Zach

Another beloved Blazer alumni showing his true colors last night.

Courtesy of Comcast.net:
Knicks forward Zach Randolph was suspended one game without pay by the NBA on Friday for throwing his headband at a referee.

Randolph was called for a foul by Tony Brothers with 1:47 remaining in the third quarter of the Knicks' 107-97 loss to Sacramento on Wednesday. Randolph took off his headband and threw it in the direction of Brothers, landing near his feet.

Though Brothers didn't appear to notice at first, the NBA said in releasing the penalty that the headband hit the official.

Nice to see Zach continue a strong tradition of Blazer headband wearers (Walton, Uncle Cliffy, Rasheed, Bonzi, etc.) and more importantly headband throwers (the latter two standing out). The thing I want to know is how much is the poor sap in Manhattan getting paid to review tapes to see whether a headband hit an official or not? Somehow I don't think that paycheck is covering even a studio in The City.

Welcome to the blog!
